Program Description

Program Name: The Serving Heart
Description: The Serving Heart is a community volunteer coordination program based in Washington, Illinois. We connect neighbors who need everyday assistance — yard work, transportation, errands, small repairs, and companionship — with local volunteers. SMS messages are used to notify volunteers of new service requests and to coordinate fulfillment.

SMS Messaging

By providing your phone number and opting in via our volunteer signup or service request forms, you consent to receive recurring text messages from The Serving Heart sent from (309) 322-9899. Messages may include:

  • Volunteer opportunity notifications
  • Service request updates and assignment confirmations
  • Coordination messages related to active requests
  • Program updates and administrative notices

Message frequency varies based on volunteer activity and community need. You may receive multiple messages per week during active periods.

Opt-Out Instructions

You may opt out of SMS communications at any time:

  • Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe immediately. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts.
  • Reply HELP to any message to receive support contact information.

After opting out, you may re-enroll at any time by contacting us or re-submitting a signup form.

  • The Serving Heart makes no guarantee of volunteer availability or response time.
  • We reserve the right to decline or remove any service request or volunteer registration at our discretion.
  • The Serving Heart is not a registered nonprofit organization. Donations are not tax-deductible.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of our services or SMS program following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
